Ingredients

  • 1 Cabbage
  • 3 Green peppers
  • 2 Red peppers
  • 400 g Chicken breast
  • 4 tablespoons of Vegetable oil
  • 2.5 cups of Rice
  • 3 teaspoons of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Curry
  • 4 glasses of Water
  • 4 tablespoons of Vegetable oil (for greasing the pan)
  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons of Tomato paste
  • Garlic and dill yogurt

Instructions

Step 1

  • Preparing the Cabbage Start by boiling a large pot of water. Once the water reaches a boil, add the whole cabbage and let it cook for about 5 minutes. This will help soften the cabbage leaves, making them easier to work with later on.
  • After 5 minutes, carefully remove the cabbage from the pot and allow it to cool slightly. Once it’s cool enough to handle, gently peel off the outer leaves, taking care not to tear them. Set the cabbage leaves aside for later use.

Step 2

  • Preparing the Chicken and Peppers Dice the chicken breast into small cubes and set them aside. Next, slice the green and red peppers into thin strips.
  • In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the diced chicken breast to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced green and red peppers to the skillet. Cook the peppers and chicken together for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 3

  • Cooking the Rice In a separate pot, heat 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the rice to the pot and stir gently to coat the grains with oil. Sprinkle in the paprika, black pepper, salt, and curry, stirring to combine.
  • Once the spices are evenly distributed, add 4 glasses of water to the pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer for about 10 minutes, or until it’s cooked through and fluffy.

Step 4

  • Assembling the Dish Now comes the fun part – assembling our incredible cabbage and rice dish. Take one of the cabbage leaves and place a spoonful of the cooked rice in the center. Top the rice with some of the chicken and pepper mixture, then fold the sides of the cabbage leaf over the filling to form a neat little bundle.
  • Repeat this process with the remaining cabbage leaves and filling until all the ingredients have been used.

Step 5

  • Adding the Finishing Touches In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once the butter is melted, stir in the tomato paste until it’s well combined. This rich and flavorful sauce will add the perfect finishing touch to our dish.
  • To serve, place the cabbage bundles on a platter and drizzle the garlic and dill yogurt over the top. Spoon the tomato butter sauce over the cabbage bundles, allowing it to seep into the cracks and crevices.

And there you have it—a dish that defies expectations and delights the senses. With its unique combination of flavors and textures, this incredible cabbage and rice recipe is sure to become a favorite in your household. So why wait? Gather your ingredients and get cooking; you won’t be disappointed!
